As the autumn season settles in, we encourage everyone to take time to enjoy the bright colours, crisp air and quieter evenings.
School Photographer
The school photographer will visit next Tuesday, 7th October. Individual and family photographs will be taken. Class photographs will be taken of Junior Infants, 6th Class. There will be a whole school photo also. Please ensure full school uniform is worn on the day, including ties. There is no obligation to purchase photographs.
Bí Cineálta Guidelines
As a reminder, our Bí Cineálta guidelines are now in place. They replace the previous Anti Bullying guidelines. These can be viewed on our school website https://www.ballybaycns.com/ under the Our School tab and in policies. We encourage all families to be familiar with these important guidelines.
Christmas Play – Save The Date
This year’s Christmas play will take place on Wednesday 17th December in Derryvalley Hall. Please mark the date in your diaries – we look forward to seeing you there!
Clothing Collection
We are currently awaiting a confirmed date for our next clothing collection. We hope it will take place after mid-term, so please start collecting unwanted items of clothing etc Spread the word amongst your family and friends.
School Lunches – Fresh Today
Please check your child’s lunch orders and make sure they are happy with what has been chosen. Orders for the following week should be changed before Thursday each week. If you are having any difficulty logging into Fresh Today please contact the school. Fresh Today are providing a basket of apples free of charge to each classroom and we will be encouraging children to avail of them.
Football With Euan
Football coaching with Euan is continuing every Friday. The children are really enjoying these sessions and developing their football skills.
Congratulations to Ms Millar & Brigid O’Neills
Huge congratulations to Ms Millar, Mr McCabe and all the Brigid O’Neills ladies who won the Intermediate Championship Final in Clones last Sunday. Ms Millar captained the team and scored a goal and a point in the last few minutes to seal the victory. We were delighted to welcome the winning team to our school on Monday to celebrate their achievement.
After school Activities
The afterschool Lego activity in September was very enjoyable. Many thanks to Brian Parker for facilitating this fun event. Our next afterschool activity will take place on Wednesday 22nd October, with Will Arkell from Monaghan Rugby Club.
Absences & Aladdin
All pupil absences must be entered by parents on Aladdin Connect. Please remember: if a child misses 20 days or more in a school year, schools are legally required to report this to TESS (Tusla Education Support Services). Families will receive an update each term of the total number of absences their child has accumulated. Parents can also log into Aladdin at any time to check their child’s attendance record.
Parent-Teacher Meetings
Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place in November. Further details will be sent home closer to the date. Slots for Parent-Teacher meetings will be booked by parents on Aladdin.
School Closures
The school will be closed from Monday 27th – Friday 31st October inclusive for mid-term break. The school will also close at 12.00 noon on Friday 14th November to facilitate staff training with Oide.
