End of Year 6th Class Water Fight
Due to popular demand, the Student Council organised a water fight for the 6th class pupils โ our very first one at Ballybay Central! Judging by how much everyone enjoyed it, we think it could become an annual event.
The Student Council filled buckets with water and hid them around the school grounds, along with water guns and sponges. The 6th class pupils had great fun soaking and drenching each other while the other classes watched on!
Hopefully this will be a fun memory for our wonderful 6th class pupils to take with them as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.
6th class, we will miss you!
There are lots of photos from the event on the Photos page of this website

Sand tray project - May 2026
We are delighted to add a new addition to our playground. After being kindly donated a large sand tray, we used money raised during previous Student Council fundraisers to purchase supplies, including paint, brushes, plywood and builders sand, to restore it. The tray has now been given a wonderful new lease of life.
Jasonโs brother, Sean, who is a carpenter, generously made a new lid to help keep the sand clean and dry. The Student Council worked very hard to strip, wash and paint the tray before filling it with sand.
The junior pupils are thoroughly enjoying this fantastic new addition to the yard.
See the photos below showing the different stages of our recent project:

Student Council - Easter, 2026
We enjoyed preparing a Beetle Drive for our peers to enjoy. The teachers and pupils all had a great time. It was a fun way to mark the end of the 2nd term.

Student Council 2024 -2025
We canโt believe we are fast approaching the end of 1st term! We had a fun-filled day on 13th December marking the beginning of the Christmas festivities. We look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus next week at our Carol Service.
Our special Pyjamas, Movie and Hot Chocolate day started with a colouring competition, followed by a movie. Pupils were able to come to school wearing pyjamas and festively dressed. Pupils brought a small treat from home and also some blankets/teddies/pillows.
When the movie was over, the Student Council served out some popcorn and hot chocolate. Everyone enjoyed our Christmas Karaoke session outside during yard time.
We went home tired and in good spirits! ๐

To mark the beginning of half-term, we celebrated with a fun Show and Tell event. Everyone had a wonderful time and we, the Student Council, enjoyed putting all the plans in place for the event.

In September, a new team of students were elected onto the Student Council. We are Lisa, Amy, Amelia McA, Luke, Amelia G, Theodore, and Danny. We are also delighted to have Emily on the team who was re-elected for a second year.
In the lead up to Election Day, all candidates worked hard to earn votes and bravely delivered speeches to the whole school.

Student Council 2023-2024
On June 19th, we held a cake sale in Hall Street to raise funds for our ongoing school yard equipment project. It was a resounding success with a total of โฌ749 raised. We enjoyed helping Mrs. McBride set up the stalls and were there to serve all the many customers from the community. We are so thankful to the parents and grandparents who provided many delicious treats and plants for the sale. The event was made even more special with the celebration of International Day held at the other end of the hall! There was a wonderful atmosphere and it was a lovely way to end the year.

The sales of our shopper bags came to โฌ605! We were able to use this money to purchase 2 sets of monkey bars for the school yard. The students have really enjoyed playing on them during break time.

We would like to thank everyone who purchased a bag and who participated in the endeavour from the beginning, especially to David at DJB Art & Design Creations for designing the final layout for the bags.

The whole school took part in a table quiz to mark the beginning of Half-Term. We had a really fun time together. Well done to the winning team, Team 1! Use your golden tickets wisely!

See pictures below of our Harvest Hunt. We really enjoyed working in teams to find everything from the list on our school grounds.
